The safest day to order squishy Christmas gifts is Wednesday 2 December. Anything ordered by then should reach you before Christmas Eve. Most of the ideas below cost under €10 and there is something for every age from 3 up.

When should I order squishy Christmas gifts?
Every order leaves our partner warehouse and takes 7–15 working days to reach you. We plan with the slow end, which means three full working weeks. Weekends don't count.

Your own office swap might fall on a different day. Take the day before it and count back three working weeks. Public holidays where you live are not in this table, so give yourself a day or two extra if one falls in between.

Sizes and ages in this guide are maker's specs and so are the materials. "From 3" means the maker says not for children under 3. Price bands are from 26 October. In Australia and New Zealand every product card shows the current price in AUD or NZD.
What fits in a Christmas stocking?
A stocking is forgiving, but the top is still the bottleneck. Anything wider than the opening ends up next to the stocking instead of in it.
The Jumbo Milk Carton is 5.5 x 12 cm (2.2 x 4.7 in) and weighs 59 g. That is about the weight of an egg, so jumbo is a generous word for it. Upright it only needs an opening of about 5.5 cm and it stands back up in about 5 to 7 seconds after a squeeze.
For a five-year-old the sheep and the cat paw bun both fit easily. The capybara is 9 cm tall and fits as well. The jumbo highland cow is 14.5 cm across and is better off sitting under the tree.

Stocking test: lay a ruler across the top of the stocking and measure the narrowest point. If the squishy is smaller, it goes in. If no size is listed, pick a small motif to be safe.
Which squishy fits a €10 Secret Santa?
With a €10 limit the creaky highland cow stays inside the budget and so do the capybara and the Christmas ball. The grumpy cat sits just above it. If you order one single piece, shipping comes on top.
At work the grumpy cat still makes the better joke if your group allows a little more. It stares out of its own box and needs hardly any wrapping. Some offices call the swap Kris Kringle and the rules are the same.
For a class of 9 to 12 year olds the creaky highland cow is the pick. Tiny plastic block pieces inside rub together with a loud creak when you press it. Those small pieces also mean it is not for children under 3.
What makes a bigger present under the tree?
Under the tree you can go bigger than the stocking allows. The jumbo highland cow fills two hands and is on the heavy side for a squishy, which makes the squeeze feel solid.
For children from 6 the unicorn donut is 13 x 15 cm. The hole in the middle gives small hands something to hold and it rises back very slowly.

Wrapping without much paper
Squishies that come in a plain bag wrap well in baking paper. It crinkles before anyone even squeezes. If a new squishy smells strong out of the parcel, leave it open for a day or two before you wrap it.

What age is a squishy a good gift for?
It depends on the squishy. Where the maker gives an age, you find it on the product page. The sheep and the cat paw bun start at 3, the ice cream cat and the unicorn donut at 6, and a few toast and bun squishies only at 14.
Do new squishies smell when you unwrap them?
Some do. The Dutch food and product safety authority NVWA tested 19 squishies and found small amounts of volatile substances that can smell like petrol. According to NL Times on 24 September 2026 it judged them safe for children and advised airing them out.
