Dumpling Squishy
Dumpling squishies are little steamed buns you can squeeze. Two of ours sit in a small steamer basket and two are slow rising PU foam. We leave out water bead fillings.

No squishy gets searched more than the dumpling right now. It is a round bun with folds on top, sometimes with a face and often in a little basket. Some are made of foam. Others have a skin with a gel filling that bulges out to the sides when you press.
Dumplings and buns also turned up in many of this year's squishy recalls. The trouble usually came from cheap gel or water bead fillings and from fakes of a known brand. So we take our time here. We don't sell squishies with water beads or sand inside, and we don't sell copies of famous brands or characters.
Dumpling describes the shape, a round bun with folds. Taba describes the material. It is a soft two-part silicone that you can mold a little and that feels almost like skin. Most dumplings are foam or gel.
That depends a lot on what is inside. Gel fillings should never be bitten or cut open, and a squishy with a torn skin belongs in the bin. Our squishies are for ages 3 and up and we leave out water bead and sand fillings.
No. Heat can make gel fillings burst. Keep dumplings away from the microwave and the freezer. A hot radiator or strong sun isn't a good spot either.
