Whale Paper Squishy Template with a Water Spout
The whale paper squishy template is a blue whale seen from the side, with a light striped belly, a raised tail with two rounded flukes and a light blue water spout, free to print. Pink cheeks sit on its face. The spout is chunky, so it's part of the outline.
Quick answer
Print it at 100 % and colour the whale blue. Tape both halves, cut along the grey border and lay them back to back. Fill the body, leave the spout and tail flat. A grown-up cuts round the tail, and it's not for under-threes.

A blue whale with a spout
Whales are calm and round. Ours has its tail up as if about to dive.

The belly has light stripes. The tail ends in two rounded flukes and the spout puffs up above the head in light blue. Because the whale faces one way, the back half is mirrored, so the tails meet when you join the two pieces and nothing sticks out on its own.
Tail and spout take a little care.

How to make the whale
- Print at 100 % and colour the body blue, the stripes light and the spout pale blue.
- Tape both whales and cut round the outside of the grey border.
- Line the halves up so the tails meet and tape round the body.
- Stuff the body through a gap under the belly.
- Leave the tail and spout flat and seal the gap.
Flat flukes look most like a real tail. Our paper squishy guide has the full method, and the octopus and the seal are in the template collection.
