A planet with a ring

Planets are a favourite with space fans. Ours has a ring tilted across the middle.

The planet is lilac with small craters. A peach ring sweeps round it at an angle and sticks out on both sides. The ring is wide enough to cut without tearing, and on the back you see the plain planet and ring, so it looks like a little world from both sides.

Ring ends need a careful cut.

Making the planet squishy

1. Print at 100 % and colour the planet lilac and the ring peach.
2. Shade the craters a little darker.
3. Tape both planets and cut along the outer grey border round the ring.
4. Tape the halves together and leave a gap at the bottom.
5. Stuff the planet round, keep the ring flat and close it.
