Toast Paper Squishy Template with Butter, Free to Print

Our toast paper squishy template is a golden slice with a pat of butter on top, and you can print it for free. The front smiles at you and the back is plain toast with a few crumbs. Plan a good half hour for your first one.

Quick answer

Print the PDF at actual size so the halves match. Colour the crust, cover both halves with wide clear tape and cut along the grey border. Then tape them together around some stuffing. A grown-up does the cutting, and it's not a toy for children under three.

A slice of toast with a pat of butter

The toast was one of the first three shapes we ever drew. Butter kept turning up in Google's paper squishy suggestions in several countries when we checked in October 2026, so it went on top.

Toast with butter, front and back

A brown crust frames the pale slice and the butter sits near the top. Rounded corners mean no fiddly points. That makes the toast a friendly first project for anyone who has never cut tape before.

Two dark eyes and pink cheeks are all the face needs. The back stays plain, so you can add your own crumbs or a bite mark with a brown pencil.

Difficulty easy easy, slower cutting

How to make the toast squishy

  1. Print the page at 100 % and check the 5 cm line with a ruler.
  2. Colour the crust toasty brown and leave the butter a light yellow. Felt tip needs a few minutes to dry.
  3. Lay wide clear tape over both slices, grey border included, and smooth it from the middle out.
  4. Cut both slices out on the outer line of the grey border.
  5. Put the slices back to back and tape the edge with short bits of narrow tape. Leave a gap two fingers wide.
  6. Push stuffing in with a pencil until the corners feel soft, then tape the gap shut.

Squeeze it once before the last strip goes on. If the seam crackles, pull a little stuffing back out. Every step has photos in our paper squishy guide, and the template collection has 119 more shapes.

Toast squishies ready to squeeze

A paper slice is soft for a few days. These foam ones bounce back after every squeeze, and the thick toast is 11 x 10 x 3.5 cm according to the maker.

Out of tape or stuffing? These are the supplies our guide uses.

FAQ

How big is the toast paper squishy?

The big toast ends up at 9 x 10 cm and the small one at 6 x 6 cm, grey border included. Print at 100 % or the sizes shrink.

Can I make the toast without a printer?

Yes. Draw a slice with a rounded top on paper, then trace it against a bright window for the back. The butter is just a small square.

Is there a black and white version to colour?

The PDF has both. One page is in colour and the other is an outline, which saves ink and gives kids the crust to colour.
