Yellow Butter Box Template, Free Fold Net

Our yellow butter box template is the classic one, a buttery yellow block with dots and a small face, free to print. The net folds into a 3D box of 30 x 30 x 110 mm. That's roughly the shape of a real butter stick, only smaller.

Quick answer

Print at actual size and measure the 1 cm square. Cut out the net, fold the lines, glue the tab and tuck in both ends. Grown-ups handle the scissors, and the finished box isn't for under-threes.

The classic yellow butter block

Yellow is the butter everyone pictures first. It's the colour of the butter squishy trend, and it looks good next to any of the pastel boxes.

The sides are warm yellow with a scattering of dots. One face carries the little smile. Every box in the butter series uses the same net, and because the geometry is checked with our template tool, the edges meet once folded, at least on paper as thin as the tool assumes.

Card holds up better than printer paper.

Folded size 30 x 30 x 110 mm
Paper thin card, 160 to 200 gsm
Tabs 1 glue tab, 2 tuck flaps, 4 dust flaps
Difficulty easy

How to fold the yellow box

  1. Print at 100 %. The 1 cm square on the sheet should measure exactly 1 cm.
  2. An adult cuts round the outer line and the small slits beside each tuck flap.
  3. Fold every line, dash-dot away from you and dashed towards you.
  4. Spread glue on the tab, press it inside the far edge of the first side and wait until it holds.
  5. Fold in the dust flaps at one end, close the lid over them, slide the tuck flap in, then repeat at the other end.

All ten butter colours are explained in our paper squishy templates guide. The flat butter squishy is in the template collection.

FAQ

Can I open the box again?

Yes. The tuck flap at each end pulls out, so the lid opens.

Why don't my corners meet?

Usually the print was scaled or a tab was glued on the outside. Tabs always go inside.

Which glue works?

Use a glue stick or craft glue. Superglue and hot glue stay off the table.
