Sunday breakfast in many homes starts with a braided loaf, and this braided bread squishy copies one right down to the pale gaps between the plaits. The golden strands are plump. Together they make 19 cm of slow rising PU foam.

Can you press each plait on its own?

Yes, and that's the fun part. Every strand is its own little bump of foam. Push them down one by one along the braid and the first one is already rising back while you're still pressing the last.

How long is the braided loaf?

It's 19 cm (7.5 in) long and about 3.5 cm (1.4 in) thick. That makes it longer than a smartphone and a lot slimmer. At around 48 g it's light for its length.

Shape	braided loaf
Length	19 cm (7.5 in)
Thickness	about 3.5 cm (1.4 in)
Weight	about 48 g
Material	PU foam, slow rising

Where does the braid fit best?

It lies flat, so it works well in a toy bakery or on the counter of a play kitchen. Bread fans tend to line it up on a shelf next to their other loaves.

To clean it, dab rather than rub with a damp cloth and let it dry in the air. Keep it out of the sink and away from a hot sunny window.

The full bakery shelf is in our bread squishies.
