Golden crust, cracked on top and bulging on one side as if the dough rose a little too much in the oven. This country bread squishy shades from light gold into deep brown, just like a loaf that got a good bake.

How big is the loaf?

About 15.5 × 9.5 cm and 6 cm high, roughly the length of a smartphone but much rounder. It weighs about 66 g. That is close to a hen's egg, so it rests easily in one hand.

Shape	golden country loaf
Size	about 15.5 × 9.5 cm (6.1 × 3.7 in)
Height	about 6 cm (2.4 in)
Weight	about 66 g
Material	PU foam, slow rising

Does it rise back slowly?

Yes. The PU foam sinks under your thumbs and climbs back at its own pace. Press a deep dent into the crust and count how long it takes to disappear. The maker gives no seconds, so your count is the only number there is.

Bread basket or gift?

One loaf on its own looks good on a kitchen shelf. Put it next to the oat loaf and a few rolls from our bread squishies and you have a whole little basket. It also suits anyone who bakes real sourdough and wants a joke on the counter.

Caring for a foam loaf

No tap water. Dab off dust with a slightly damp cloth and let the air do the drying. Keep it loose in a drawer and away from the radiator.
