Stretchy Squishies

A stretchy squishy is one you pull, not just press. These are made of TPR or silicone and stretch wide before they slowly gather themselves back up. Foam squishies are not made for that and tear easily.

A stretchy squishy is made of TPR or silicone instead of foam, so you can pull it wide and it stays in one piece. The ice cream cone shows it best. Its swirl is stretchy silicone and the maker's photos show it pulled wide between two hands, while the yellow cone gives you something to hold. The mochi rice cake is small, about 4 cm, and so stretchy that you can fold it or shape it into something new. The sugar style capybara and bunny are clear TPR with a maltose filling. Pull their sides and they stretch like taffy, then they slowly pull themselves back together. The glitter heart is maltose style TPR and stretches long in a fist.

Pull slowly and keep your nails out of it, because a small nick can grow into a tear. Warmth matters too. The maker's photos of the heart mention 22 to 28 °C, and in a cold room TPR probably feels stiffer.

Pulling the silicone ice cream

The swirl of the ice cream cone is stretchy silicone. Hold the yellow cone and pull the top slowly.

A capybara that stretches like taffy

Pull the sides of the sugar style capybara and it gets wide. Let go and it slowly turns back into a chubby capybara.

Five stretchy squishies

Ice cream cone, mochi rice cake, capybara, bunny and heart. The mochi rice cake is the smallest at about 4 cm, the glitter heart is maltose style TPR.

A mochi rice cake on the palm

The mochi rice cake is about 4 cm. You can fold it or pull it into a new shape and it stays in one piece.

What is a stretchy squishy made of?

Ours are TPR (thermoplastic rubber) or silicone. Foam squishies rise back slowly but are not made for pulling.

Can a stretchy squishy break?

Yes, if you pull too hard or a nail catches it. If the skin tears and the filling shows, throw it away. Our care guide shows what you can fix and what you can't.

Is TPR the same as silicone?

No. Both feel soft and rubbery, but they are different materials. Each product page says which one you get, and our guide to squishy types explains the rest.
