Watermelon Paper Squishy Template, Free Slice

Our watermelon paper squishy template is a red wedge with a green rind and black seeds, free to print. The big slice measures about 9 x 9 cm. With its straight top edges it cuts quickly.

Quick answer

Print at 100 % and colour the flesh red and the rind green. Seal each half under clear tape, trim along the grey edge and join the two with short strips. Stuff the wide rind end most. Scissors stay with a grown-up, and the finished slice isn't for under-threes.

A melon wedge with seeds

Watermelon is a summer shape. The paper version was one of the food designs in our second PDF, drawn as a single thick wedge so that even the small size has enough room inside for a proper handful of stuffing.

Watermelon wedge with seeds and rind

A white line separates the red flesh from the green rind. Black seeds are scattered on both sides, and the face sits in the middle of the red. The back is the same slice with seeds only.

The point is wide enough to stuff. Just go easy.

Making the watermelon slice

  1. Print the sheet at 100 %. Colour the flesh red, the thin stripe white and the rind green.
  2. Add the seeds with a black pencil if you use the outline page.
  3. Cover both slices with wide tape from the middle out and cut along the grey border.
  4. Tape the halves together along the two straight sides first.
  5. Stuff through the rind end, a pinch into the point, then close the rind.

Paper melons look best slightly flat, like a real slice. Too much filling makes it look like a ball. Our paper squishy guide has every step. More fruit is in the template collection.

Melon and fruit squishies

The foam watermelon rises slowly and is the closest match. The pink guava slice and the giant strawberry fit the same summer table.

FAQ

How big is the watermelon template?

Your big melon slice should measure 9 x 9 cm once printed, the small one 6 x 6 cm. The 5 cm line on the page checks the scale.

Is the watermelon good for younger kids?

Yes, it's one of the easier shapes because two sides are straight. An adult still does the cutting.

Can I print it for a summer party?

Yes, as many copies as you like. It's free for home, school and parties.
