Easter Chick Paper Squishy Template in an Eggshell

The Easter chick paper squishy template is a yellow chick that peeks out of a cracked white eggshell and wears the top of the shell like a little hat, free to print. A tiny orange beak and pink cheeks finish its face. The zigzag crack is drawn on, so the outline stays smooth.

Quick answer

Print it at 100 % and colour the chick yellow. Cover both halves in tape, trim on the grey line and pair them up. Stuff the chick and the shell. A grown-up cuts round the hat, and it isn't for kids under three.

A chick hatching from its egg

The Easter chick is our hatching moment in paper. It's half chick, half eggshell.

Chick in a cracked eggshell

The bottom half is a cracked white shell with a zigzag edge. The yellow chick pops out above it, with the top of the shell sitting on its head like a hat. That zigzag is printed inside the outline, so you never have to cut little points, and the shape stays smooth all round.

The hat sticks up a little.

How to make the Easter chick

  1. Print with scaling off and colour the chick yellow and the beak orange.
  2. Leave the shell white.
  3. Tape both halves and cut round the outer grey border.
  4. Join them back to back, with the bottom of the shell left open.
  5. Stuff the chick, then the shell, and close it.

The shell looks best a little rounder than the chick. Our paper squishy guide covers each step, and the round chick and the Easter egg are in the template collection.
